Couscous Goose Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-06-24
This Privacy Policy applies to Couscous Goose (the "App"), provided by RM4 LLC ("we", "us", or "our").
TL;DR
This is a plain-language summary for convenience only.
- The App itself collects no personal data — anything you create stays on your device.
- The only data that leaves your device is standard web-request information (mainly your IP address) sent when the App downloads files.
- That information is kept briefly in server access logs for security and reliability, and may pass through a third-party content delivery network (CDN) to deliver files.
- Because the App is global and our CDN may be US-based, this data can be processed in other countries, including the United States, under recognized safeguards.
- None of this is used for tracking, advertising, or marketing, and we don't sell it.
Data the App Collects
The App does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data from your device. We do not require you to create an account, and the App does not include analytics, advertising, or tracking. Any content you create within the App stays on your device.
Server Logs
The App downloads files from our web server. Like most web servers, ours automatically records standard request information in access logs, which may include:
- Your IP address
- Date and time of the request
- The file or resource requested
- Your device's browser/user-agent string
- The response status
We use these logs only for security, diagnostics, and keeping the service running reliably. We do not use them to identify or track individual users, we do not combine them with other data, and we do not sell or share them. Logs are retained for up to 90 days.
Content Delivery and Third-Party Services
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
To deliver files reliably and efficiently, we may use a third-party content delivery network (CDN). When the App requests a file, the CDN necessarily receives technical request information, such as your IP address and the file requested, in order to route and serve the content. The CDN processes this information on our behalf solely to deliver the service, under a data processing agreement with the provider. We do not use it for tracking, advertising, or marketing. This processing is carried out because it is necessary to provide the App's core functionality.
International Data Transfers
The App is available globally. Because our servers and our content delivery provider operate internationally, technical request information (such as your IP address) may be processed in, or transferred to, countries other than the one you live in, including the United States. Data protection laws in those countries may differ from those in your own.
Where we transfer personal data out of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognized under applicable law — such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, and, where the provider is certified, the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework (including its UK and Swiss extensions). These safeguards are set out in our data processing agreement with the relevant provider. You may contact us at the address below for more information about the safeguards that apply.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly use server logs to identify any individual user, including children.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over personal data such as your IP address in our logs (for example, to request access or deletion). To make a request, contact us at the address below.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above and posting the revised policy at the same location.
